While I haven’t always embraced the word “equality,” I have consistently celebrated uniqueness. An egalitarian mindset can foster competition and rivalry rather than complementarity. For me, the concept of equality feels limiting and does not allow for the exploration of hidden potentials and opportunities. However, in a world where women have often been viewed as the weaker or lesser gender and treated merely as vessels, it’s understandable why the fight for equality remains so strong. This is the inspiration behind the creation of The Abigails Global.

As marital relationships continue to struggle and fall short of God’s intentions, my awakening to the liberation of women came in the form of a revelation. One morning, God spoke to me, saying, “Your wife is not your queen; she is your kingdom.” This statement struck me profoundly. How can one person embody a kingdom?

It felt as though a veil had been lifted from my eyes, giving me an epiphany about the essence of womanhood. I began to see her not merely in terms of equality but in light of her unique qualities and significant role. While queenship may seem appealing, seeing her as a kingdom was a game changer; this perspective places her in a much larger roles that leave no room for comparison or competition.

While I may be the king, she represents the kingdom—just as we are to Christ. Christ is the groom, and we are His bride; He is the King who will stop at nothing, not even death, for His bride. No wonder the scriptures say, “the kingdom is within you” (Luke 17:21).

If wives are indeed kingdoms, then the king cannot operate in a vacuum. It is the kingdom that elevates and enthrones the king. Consequently, the king must strive to defend, establish, purify, provide for, and lead his kingdom. While the wife (the kingdom) nourishes, praises, and utilizes her feminine wisdom to flourish the king, likewise the king must embody the qualities of a warrior, a wise visionary, and a true leader.

The kingdom must embody the spirit of a kingmaker, bringing out the very best in the king and calling things that are not as if they are (Romans 4:17). The kingdom should be fruitful, productive, and flourishing. Every kingdom is the pride of the king, just as people rejoice over a righteous and wise leader.

As we enter this month of love, I invite you to reflect on romantic relationships from God’s perspective. Are you a Christlike king? How does viewing your wife as your kingdom shift your understanding of marriage? What responsibilities does the kingdom have towards the king?

These questions and more will be explored throughout February across all our platforms. Let love fill the air. Sign in or Sign up on The Mirror platform to engage the course “The King and The Kingdom) – https://learn.themirrorllc.com/

May you embody the essence of a true king.
May your kingdom be richly blessed.
May this month be filled with unconditional love with blessed kingdoms.
May your relationships be healed and blossom in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
